Unreliable Narrators! Guys who tell themselves a story about who they are that is wrong in some deeply vital way. Guys who are so sure what they want and yet aren't happy when they get it. Guys who have no idea what they want and yet are chasing after it with the intensity of a starving dog. Guys who aren't sure who they are confused by how other people see them. Guys who are so sure they know what another guy is thinking and refuse to let go of the lens they're using even when it'd be easier to just be wrong. Guys talking past each other and hearing something completely different than one another due to their biases. Guys who "know they're unlovable" being loved and freaking out.
Meta-Narration! My favorite story is a story about a guy who likes a story that's so soaked through with it's author's psyche that he inadvertently helps the author confront the parts of himself that he put into said story through loving the main character so hard it fills every plot hole. (heh.) Stories about stories, or about narration, or about delusion. Stories with multiple layers of story hidden within, depending on how much you trust the narrator's POV.
Dubcon Moirallegience! Listen. A story doesn't have to be a Homestuck AU to count in spirit. Think, instead, about forced, but needed, intimacy. The body being a thing meant for non-sexual pleasure without the guy inside having a say in it. Being gagged and forced to listen to someone say they're good. Mandatory, enforced bed rest. Tied up to receive a massage. Pinning a guy down until he finally says he'll eat. Drugging a mangy cat type guy to bathe them. You get it.
Feeling Meat! The viscerality of having a body, of being allowed to feel another's, the warmth of a lover's insides... be it guro or eroguro or an innocent curiosity about someone else's monstrous form, I love when guys can't help but touch something others might consider weird / scary / gross, and the intimacy of being touched. Importantly, though, everyone has to be into it.
Polyamory! Two guys spending time together are two guys spending time together, but three requires at least one guy being left out in a conversation, or a guy lecturing to the other two. The shifting dynamics and differences between how characters view their different partners delights me. Also: more mouths, more kissies. Think about it. (BingLiuShen in particular is a favorite of mine...)
Living Weapons! Guys who are disconnected from their bodies in some way, who view it as a weapon, or tool, or burden, or annoyance. The objectification of the self, the dissociation from the physical. (Bonus points if these guys have sex and complain about having to feel good the whole time lmao)
Casual Sex! Bored and ignored, free use, character A tied up w/ a vibrator while character B does something mundane nearby, characters A and B chatting while character A fingerbangs character C... you get it. The contrast between Guy Doing Normal Thing and guy losing his mind from horny desperation is chefs kiss
Mask Off Moments! Anything where the characters involved are forced to change/drop their masks: truth serum, memory loss, mind control, hallucinogenic substances, dream sharing... A guy who relies on being scary to feel safe is suddenly cute and it terrifies them. A guy who refuses to speak can't figure out how to shut up. A guy who believes their darkest impulses will cause the immediate loss of their closest friends is forced to act on them. Show me other characters having to grapple with the disconnect between who they thought this guy was and a new, unfamiliar, and deeply hidden aspect.
Creampies / Excessive Cum
Degradation / Namecalling / Humiliation
Character Bashing
Size Difference (Notably, this does NOT mean macro/micro, but rather when one guy is like 1.2x the height of another. Weird distinction to make, I know.)
Pregnancy / Childbirth
Unsanitary Things in General
One-way Abusive Relationships (vs. mutually abusive)
In general, if everyone is expected to be "fine" eventually given canon healing factors / panaceas and infinite therapy, you're probably good. As for specifics...
Permanent Character Death... Notably, the death is fine, its the "this guy never comes back" part.
Post-Bodily-Trauma-Trauma... Characters being terrified / distressed by the permanent damage to their bodies. I do love body horror, to be clear! I just do not like worrying about how the character is supposed to live afterwards. If the guy you're whumping gets rescued and comforted and, say, gifted custom made prosthetic limbs to give them back their autonomy and so they can learn to live with their new body, go fuckin crazy. Rip those limbs off! Also: not a big fan of cringe-inducing pain! If you're doing eyes/fingernails/teeth torture skim over the details if you please.
Underage... Prepubescent underage stuff is a hard no. Otherwise, go for it, with the caveat that I don't enjoy reading about adults being attracted to people who would be (in their cultural context) seen as non-adults. Teens fantasizing about adults, on the other hand, is a great way to explore a character's burgeoning interests!
Noncon... Specifically when the aggressor is pleased by the open terror of the person they're assaulting. If the noncon-ee is trying to hide how scared they are (whether or not they're succeeding), or the aggressor also doesn't want to be doing this, it's good. Great, even. Give me a layered sort of horror where the physical violation is a metaphor for an attempted mental violation, where all involved are trying to push past the other's masks, terrified and excited in equal measure by the idea of being Seen.
Scat/Diapers/Human Toilet... No thank you!
Bodily Fluids... Specifically, avoid visceral/sensory details please! If a character pisses themselves and comments on the warmth for example, that's fine, but describing smell/taste/texture of bodily fluids is something I find very unpleasant. (The one exception to this is blood - hence the bloodplay tag, lol.)
